Francesca Lo Re


Francesca was born and raised in Italy where she studied Business and Administration at “Ca’ Foscari” University in Venice. 

She experienced banking, international cooperation, microfinance and fair trade.

Her countries of work experience are Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Cambodia, Nepal, Peru, Ecuador, Argentina, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Honduras, Senegal, Benin, and Togo.

In 1998 she started her career in a bank as corporate assistant manager and after three years she joined Banca Etica, Italian social bank supporting the non-profit sector.

In 2004 she moved to international cooperation, joining a humanitarian Ngo in Pakistan.

Since 2005 she’s working in Etimos, international company financing more than 100 microfinance Institutions and fair trade organizations, from South America to Asia and Africa.

For three years she was based in Sri Lanka, in charge of micro finance program for reconstruction after Tsunami and operations in Cambodia.

Nowadays Francesca is Etimos’ Chief Investment Officer and Deputy Director.

She’s Board member and Managing Director of Etimos Lanka, Etimos subsidiary in Sri Lanka.

With the Nepalese friends, Francesca founded Sagarmatha to give her contribution of skills and experience for social and economic development in Nepal.
